"Each person should give as he has decided in his heart - not reluctantly or out of compulsion . . .
GOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER!" - 2 Corinthians 9:7
All that we have and enjoy in this life is ultimately a gift from God. It is our privilege to be able to give to His church in faithful stewardship as an act of worship. Seventh-day Adventists practice biblical tithing, returning 10% of our income to support pastors, teachers, and administrators who do the work of ministry in their particular fields. ("Tithe" is an old English word meaning "tenth.") In addition to returning a tithe, we also follow the biblical model of giving offerings to support various other needs of the church. The Bible mandate for returning tithes and giving offerings is so strong that not doing so is likened to "robbing" God.
